Who we are
Podcastrology ("we", "us", "our") provides a personalized astrology service: based on the information you share, we generate a written guide (PDF) and a personal audio podcast delivered to you by email.
The data controller responsible for your personal data is:
- [LEGAL ENTITY NAME]
- [REGISTERED ADDRESS]
- Privacy contact: privacy@podcastrology.com
If you have questions about how we handle your data, please write to us at the address above.
What data we collect
To create your reading and run our service, we collect:
- Identity and contact details: your email address and first name.
- Birth details: your birth date, birth time, and birth place.
- Optional partner data: if you request a compatibility reading, the birth date, time, and place of another person. You should only provide a third party's birth details if you are entitled to do so.
- Your question or intention: the free-text question or focus you submit for your reading.
- Payment details: processed directly by our payment provider Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number; we receive only a confirmation of payment and limited transaction metadata.
- Generated content: the PDF guide and audio podcast we create for you, which contain the information above.
Why we use your data and our legal bases
We process your data for the following purposes:
- To provide your personalized reading (generate the text and audio from your birth details and question) — legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
- To deliver your guide and podcast by email and send service-related messages (order confirmation, download links) — legal basis: performance of contract.
- To process your payment and meet related accounting obligations — legal basis: performance of contract and legal obligation.
- To send optional marketing or astrology newsletters — legal basis: your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
Service providers and third parties
We rely on a small number of trusted sub-processors. Some are located outside the European Union (notably in the United States); where this is the case, transfers are governed by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent adequacy mechanism.
- Google (Gemini AI) — generates your reading text and synthesizes the podcast audio. May process data outside the EU (US).
- Stripe — securely processes payments. May process data outside the EU (US).
- SendGrid / Twilio — sends transactional emails (confirmations and delivery links). May process data outside the EU (US).
- OpenStreetMap Nominatim — converts your birth city into geographic coordinates (geocoding) needed for astrological calculation.
- [HOSTING PROVIDER] — hosts our website and securely stores generated files.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
A note on sensitive details
Your birth date, time, and place — and the question you ask — are personal and often intimate. We treat them with care and use them solely to generate and deliver your reading. We will not use these details for any other purpose, and we will not share them with anyone beyond the providers listed above, unless you give us separate, explicit consent.
How long we keep your data
We keep your personal data for [RETENTION PERIOD], after which it is deleted or anonymized, unless a longer period is required to meet a legal or accounting obligation.
You can ask us to delete your data at any time by writing to privacy@podcastrology.com. We will confirm and act on your request within the time limits set by applicable law.
International transfers
Where your data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we ensure an adequate level of protection through recognized legal mechanisms (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) and require our providers to maintain appropriate safeguards.
How we protect your data
We apply technical and organizational measures appropriate to the risk, including:
- Encrypted connections (HTTPS) across our website and services.
- Time-limited, signed links for downloading your files, so they cannot be shared or guessed indefinitely.
- Access controls that limit who can reach your data internally.
No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to respond promptly to any incident.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erase your data ("right to be forgotten").
- Port your data to another service in a structured format.
- Object to certain processing.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in France, the CNIL).
To exercise any of these rights, contact privacy@podcastrology.com.
Cookies
We use only minimal, essential cookies — for example, a cookie that remembers your language preference. We do not use invasive advertising or tracking technologies. Should this change in the future, we will update this policy and obtain consent where required.
Children
Our service is not directed at, or intended for, individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.
